Center of Chinese Language 】 Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Four-University International Online Chinese Language Interaction Program
On October 12, 2026, National Taitung University (NTTU) held the opening ceremony of the 2026 Four-University International Online Chinese Language Interaction Program, in collaboration with Mae Fah Luang University in Thailand, Van Lang University in Vietnam, Universiti Putra Malaysia, and Universitas Syiah Kuala in Indonesia.
Organized by NTTU’s Chinese Language Center, the program provides two hours of online Chinese instruction each week by professional instructors. Through proficiency-based classes, students improve their Chinese language skills. Student teaching assistants from NTTU’s Department of Chinese Language and Literature also lead small-group sessions to strengthen students’ speaking and reading abilities. By observing the main instructors’ classes, the teaching assistants gain valuable practical teaching experience, benefiting both international learners and future Chinese language educators.
NTTU representatives attending the ceremony included Vice President and Dean of the College of Humanities Chin Ling-ling, Director of the Center for International Affairs Chao Yang-ming, Department Chair Chien Chi-ju, and Center Director Shu Zhao-min.
Representatives from the partner universities also joined online, including Chen Chang-hsu and Yuan Fang from Mae Fah Luang University; Phan The Hung and Yu Zhen-Jie from Van Lang University; Dr. Husnita Habsah Yon and other administrators from Universiti Putra Malaysia; and Dr. Kismullah and Liang Chun-hsia from Universitas Syiah Kuala.
The Chinese Language Center expressed its sincere gratitude to all participating university representatives for their support and encouragement. Main instructors, teaching assistants, and international students also joined the ceremony, creating a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere.
Director Shu Zhao-min thanked the partner universities for their continued collaboration and expressed his hope for continued cooperation in Chinese language education. Beyond language learning, the program aims to foster international friendships, promote cross-cultural understanding, and build lasting connections through the shared pursuit of Chinese language teaching and learning.
