【CLTSC】International Students' Taitung Valley Tea Culture Experience Event

To familiarize international students at the Chinese Language Center of Taitung University with the local culture, a special Taitung Valley Tea Culture Experience Event has been planned. In the morning, international students and language exchange partners will be guided to a local tea factory in Luye to experience Hakka pounded tea. Before getting hands-on with tea pounding and tasting distinctive red oolong red bean cakes, international students and language partners will collaborate on cultural tasks focusing on Mandarin conversation and comprehension skills, aiming to enhance their familiarity with Taitung.

At noon, participants will visit Guanshan Rice Country School to gain insights into the cultivation of rice and savor the local specialty, "Big Bowl Rice." In the afternoon, the group will head to the Bunun Tribe Cultural Museum in Haiduan Township. The students will be introduced to the cultural and social structure of Bunun culture, the rituals, and the importance of names in every stage of life, from birth to death.

This event will assist international students in learning about Taitung's tea culture and indigenous culture. This opportunity allows international students to learn culture, broaden their perspectives, form closer relationships with their language exchange partners, and get to know the culture of the country they are visiting.
